As a leader in the luxury industry, we recognize the opportunity we have to influence culture and set the standards for excellence—not only in fine jewelry and craftsmanship but also in what it means to be responsible corporate citizens. Unlike other jewelers, we have implemented a vertical integration model that gives us a strong chain of custody, direct oversight of our manufacturing and a voice for improving global standards and conditions.
Responsible Mining
We believe fine craftsmanship starts with responsibly sourcing high-quality raw materials and continues through the creation of the final piece of jewelry. We source the majority of our rough diamonds and metals directly from mines we know and from recycled sources. We are devoted to better understanding the social, economic and environmental impact of the mining and processing of precious materials so that we can create positive change along the supply chain, all the way from the mine to our customers.
Tiffany Diamonds
At Tiffany & Co., we are committed to sourcing high-quality diamonds with integrity. We value traceability and the importance of knowing the origin of our diamonds from the moment they are unearthed as rough stones and throughout their journey to polished gems and final designs. That’s why, to start with, our diamonds are only sourced from countries that are full participants in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. But we don’t just stop there. We go above and beyond the Kimberley Process—with our own chain of custody controls and by advocating for stronger global standards—to ensure that human rights and the environment are protected. We also strongly believe in investing in the local communities in which we operate through local hiring, fair wage practices and training and development at our diamond cutting and polishing workshops around the world.
Making Our Iconic Blue Boxes and Bags Green
We work to ensure that our Blue Boxes and bags are made with paper from sustainable sources and recycled materials. We seek to advance the use of sustainably sourced paper and wood-fiber materials used in our business to reduce our environmental footprint.
Monitoring Our Supply Chain
At Tiffany & Co., we manufacture the majority of our products ourselves, and cut and polish diamonds at our own workshops. We also make it our business to get to know who we work with. Through our Social Accountability Program, we work with a key subset of suppliers to review and help them improve their human rights, labor and environmental performance wherever they operate around the world.
Energy and Climate Change
We are dedicated to reducing our energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions to protect future generations from the impacts of climate change. We are proud of our pledge to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050. To support our commitment, we are implementing a three-pronged strategy to reduce, avoid and offset our carbon emissions. This includes energy reduction initiatives, a global renewable energy program and investments in carbon offsets.
Our Employees
Our company is only as strong as our employees and at Tiffany & Co., we prioritize building and nurturing a culture of excellence across our operations. From the sales professionals who begin their careers and retire with us to our newest designers, we are proud of our employees and know that they share our collective values of respect, inclusiveness, excellence and responsibility.
